Part 3 questions.

Do you think making a good choice is important to go ahead in life?

There is a saying that your present depends on what you had decided in the past. Similarly, the future relies on what you choose in present. So certainly, making a good choice in life is crucial. A person can get a success or failure on the basis of decision he has made.

What are the typical choices people make at different stages of their life?

Well, people make plenty of choices during various stages of life. In the very first stage of their life they have to decide which school they would like to study in. After the school, perhaps the most significant of all is choosing a college on which their entire career may depend.

Apart from that, finding a life partner and getting married is also an important decision which they make when they are settled in their career.

Later in life people also make certain decisions like owing a house or car and making investment for the future are

What, according to you, has got the highest impact on the decision people take?

Some people make the decisions by the wisdom or past experience of their own. Others take decision by asking to their parents or people wiser than them.

As far as I see, past experience has the strongest impact on the decision people take. It is the past experience which tells us what could be the consequences of certain decisions.

Experiences of other people who are wiser than us, parents for example, could also serve vitally.

Do you think people have more choices now than in the past?

In certain ways, yes.People, nowadays, have more choices than in the past. Take the example of shopping, previously, there used to be only one or two shops of certain things in the town. So people had to buy those particular things from those shops only. Presently, there are myriad alternatives available locally as well as globally.

People also have abundant options while choosing food. There used to be only indigenous food available in the past. However, nowadays plenty of variety foods are on the street. You can find the food from every corner of the world continentals, Chinese, Italian name the few.

Do parents give choice to their children to take decision on their own? Why?

It depends on the nature of the decision. In my country trivial matters such as which clothes to be worn and movie to be seen can be taken by children. However, the more important one like deciding about the education or getting married is strictly taken by the parents.

Because, most probably, parents, in India, are having conservative mentality. Sometimes parents have not got that much faith or confidence in the decision taking ability of their children. However, this is not true for all parents in my country. Some parents give full liberty to take any decision.

Should important choices be made by parents?

It may be best in the interest of a child if the parents make some crucial choices such as choosing a career or a life partner for their children.

But, one cannot give an assurance of how rational it would be because parents may lack knowledge and information on certain things. For example, most parents are not well versed in latest technology or what is happening in current scenario. If the decision of education is taken by them there is a chance of flaw in that.

Mutual understanding of both parents and a child is the best way for decision taking.

What happens when the important decisions are taken by the children themselves?

There is a huge chance of flawed decision if the decision is taken by the children themselves without concerning help from their parents or elders. Children at the onset of their career are gullible enough to believe on each and every thing. They lack experience and rationality to understand the outcomes.

Why do some people choose to do the same things every day?

There are the people who love adventures and like to experience different activities in their life.

But there are other types of people who do not believe in breaking the monotony.

They lack energy to be changed from their boring activities. That is why they keep on doing the same things again and again.

What do people lose by not changing routine activities?

The people who do not change their routine activities lose the adventures and excitement which involve in trying something new.

The knowledge which people get by doing new activities is the prime motive of people for doing new and different activities. The people with the mentality of doing monotonous activities and not trying anything new lose the opportunity to get knowledge and wisdom.

Why do people like to discuss their choices with other people?

It is a human nature to discuss ideas with other people and seek advice for any decision they want to make. People think that if they ask for the advice from other people, it would help them to culminate the decision. Sometime, they think they are not competent enough to think on a particular situation.

What kind of choices people have to make in day to day life?
